Back to Earth Community Harvest Fest
Vendors Wanted
The Back to Earth Community Harvest Fest is inviting artisans, food vendors and volunteers to participate in the festival slated for August 24th & 25th at Lavington Park in Coldstream. Applications to participate can be downloaded at www.backtoearthenviroproducts.com or call 250 550-6789 for more information.

The festival is a community spirited, family event, honouring the ‘Harvest’ and the farmers, where ‘Green Street’ and a variety of Energy & Healing ‘free’ Workshops www.backtoearthenviroproducts.com  blend together with fun at the ‘Kidz Zone’ with Kiki the Eco Elf (Tanya Lipscomb) & Face It, (Krystal Williams) – a public pool and kidz play area on site as well as a children’s felting workshop with Gail Vance, local Artisans, Multi-Cultural Food Vendors, Suds n’ Ciders, and a variety of music from pop to country, R&B and Blues, to  create a 2 day, fun-filled event.

With a mandate to ‘give back’, tickets are only $5 together with a non-perishable food item that will go to the local Food Bank and to those in need.  ‘Give Freely – Take Freely’.  Profits will go toward the support and mentorship workshops for musical children. 

Friday night is ‘FREE’ to the public where local musicians will provide evening entertainment starting at 6:00 pm.  Gates open on Saturday at 9:00 am – 9:00 pm.

Roots & Beets Festival
Saturday August 11th in Cherryville
The annual "Roots & Beets Festival" is taking place Saturday, August 11th from 9:00am to 3:00pm, on the grounds of Franks Store and the Cherryville Artisans' Shop in Cherryville.

The Cherryville Artisans' Association and Farmers' Market is hosting the event this year and there is a full line up of music and entertainment that includes Tim Reardon and the Fourth Divide; Mikkal Waters; Parvathy Baul; Expressions World Music Collective; and Frills in the Field.

“The Cherryville Farmers' Market will be in full swing with fresh food, produce and artisans and the Mountain Kids Creation Fort will have crafts for the kids as well as great
door prizes. We hope that everyone can make it out for the day to enjoy arts and culture in Cherryville,” said Helen Kovacs one of the festival organizers.

There will also be two authors reading from their new books as well as Belly Dancers and artisan demonstrations in hot-glass beadmaking, pottery, weaving, felting and fibre arts. Gary Toma is offering a musical instrument workshop that will compliment a drumming workshop.

A group belonging to the Society for Creative Anachronism will have a medieval display and will be demonstrating some sword sparring.

Lumby Public Market features live music
July 6, 2012

This Saturday July 7th the Lumby Public Market will be featuring the music of Christine Kendal-Ward. Christine started playing music at a very young age and was inspired by her parents and friends.

She plays the guitar and ukulele and has been a regular at the Blue Ox Friday Night Jams over the past two years and has played at the Wild Salmon Festival for the past two years as well..

According to Randy Rauck who has assembled the music line-up for the market, “Her voice is very pleasant and unique and her pitch is near perfect. Everyone loves to hear her sing!”

“She has been writing many new songs recently and will be playing some of them at the Farmers Market in 2012 and at the Wild Salmon Music Festival July 28th and 29th,” said Rauck.

Other local performers to follow include the country and rock sounds of Mr. Barrel of Fun on July 21st. He will also feature and some kids songs and entertainment.

On August 4th the market will feature Lumby's Country Gentleman, Lee Storm.

Rauck invites others who wish to perform at the market to call him at 250 307 7553.

The market is every Saturday from 9am – 1pm. Vendors sell everything from bedding plants to fresh produce depending on the season. There is fresh baked goods and even a bannock concession as well as local arts and crafts.

Cherryville Farmers Market
begins Saturday May 12th

The Cherryville Farmers Market is very excited to begin our 4th season on Saturday May 12 from 9am-1pm. In honor of Mother's Day, we are gifting a FREE bedding Plant for the first 50 mothers who come through the market.

Our vendors have been busy this winter planning, preparing, and crafting to begin this year with great enthusiasm. Come down to the Cherryville Artisan Shop and Marketplace (behind Frank's Store) and check out our eclectic 100% producers market.

With coffee, tea, fresh foods, live music and our free "Mountain Kids Creation Fort" there is something for everyone.

Lumby Public Market Begins in May
May 3, 2012

The Lumby Public Market is held at the Lumby Community Park Oval next to the playground and will feature various special events and activities over the summer.

The market will begin May 5th and operates until October 13th every Saturday from 9am – 1pm. Vendors will be selling everything from bedding plants to fresh produce depending on the season. There will be fresh baked goods and even a bannock concession as well as local arts and crafts.

The market allows people to sell yard goods and household items so there’s a chance to shop for tools, antiques and collectibles.
